Good Friday Morning,

We have a new look on our website, Silverspoonchihuas.net. Check it out. It is a work in progress, but I believe a far nicer look.

We are expecting a new litter of puppies around Christmas. The proud parents are Cashmere and Chillie. Everything seems be going smoothly at this point.

Have a great day,
Sheila and Jim

Good Tuesday Morning,

Ladle has found a perfect home. He is going to live with Doris, Jessica and Rico. Rico is another one of Ladle's kind, a chihuahua! He is living in Westbrook with all of his brothers. The brothers are now named, Loki, Aries, Amigo, Diego, and little girl that is staying with us is now called, Tequilla. What a wonderful fact that all of the first litter is staying in Westbrook. This will make family reunions easier in the spring.

Have the best day,
Sheila and Jim

Good Morning,

Just to update the going ons at our home: We are still looking for a perfect home for our Ladle. He is such a sweet boy with the most gentlest personality and he needs his home for the holidays.

Diamond Dear is pregnant and half way through her gestation period already. We expect her pups to arrive on December 6. We are starting to get ready for this holiday event! Diamond Dear and Chillie are both beautiful perfect chihuahuas.

Check out our website: silverspoonchihuahuas.net for more update pictures and movies.

Have a great day,

Good Thursday Morning and that it is.

Little Sugarspoon went home to his forever home last night. His new mommy called and couldn't wait until this Friday. He is such a sweet but lucky little guy to have such a happy home to go to. Now all three puppies are living in Westbrook still, so puppy play days will be so much fun.

We are suspecting that our dear Diamond may be pregnant and if so, her due date will be in early December. Real excitement getting ready for another littler of pups. We do so hope that her delivery is as smooth and easy as Cashmere's. Chillie is the father for this litter also.

Hope you all have a great day,
Sheila and Jim

Good Tuesday Morning,

Another brisk morning here in Maine. It is getting to the point that the morning walks with the dogs may come to an end for the season. Getting the 7 sweaters and leashed on at 4:30 in the morning is becoming a bit too difficult to deal with. SO the next best thing is to dig out the treadmill and have them walk there for 30 minutes. Actually it is a great way to get their walks in when weather is too cold or wet. We actually have a video on our webpage,silverspoonchihuahuas.net, so check this out. Quite amazing if I may so so myself.

Until tomorrow,
Sheila and Jim

Hi Everybody,

It has been a long time since I have posted a new entry. Well, I am back and will try to keep up on the going ons with Silver Spoon Chihuahuas as much has been happening. Our small home has been bustling with all the activity of those 5 puppies and 5 adult dogs! They sound like a miniature herd of elephants as they trample back and forth on the hardwood floors. Mostly it is pure happiness watching them for hours. The puppies are in perfect health and up to date with shots and potty training. Taking them outside draws quite a crowd of passer bys and many walkers stroll by the house for a brief comic relief.

Teaspoon and Tablespoon have both found their forever home together with a dear family in Westbrook. It is a perfect fit for the pups and the family members. They are home. We also have another prospect on Little Sugar Spoon going off to his forever home also here in Westbrook. So our little flock is dwindling but not too far from us. Play days will be happening as often as possible. Jim and I have to remind ourselves that they are making others happy now and we have enough home with us.

I will try to post some more recent pictures up. I enjoy seeing them as they have grown into the most perfect pups in the world.

Have a great day.

Hi there,
All five puppies are getting cuter by the second and I am puzzled how that can be!! They are now standing on their legs and are very mobile. In a few days they are going to be had to keep up with and I can't wait. There will be more pictures of them very soon so come back to check them out.
Have a great weekend.

What a week! Today the puppies are 1 week old!!! They are growing so fast that you should check out the pictures in the Available Puppies section. We also named them as a tribute to our name: Silver Spoon Chihuahuas. Their names are in order of birth. Teaspoon, Tablespoon, Brown Sugar Spoon, Sugar Spoon, and Ladle!! We thought we should have some fun with that part.
Our little female, Brown Sugar, is sale pending, but the others, all male, are still up for sale. We are accepting deposits of $200 to hold your special pup. Each puppy must remain with us until they are able to go from 8-12 weeks old.
Mom is a natural and proud mom.
Leave us a comment and I will get back with you soon.
Until next week....

The Weigh In

Jim was able to weigh in the puppies with a scale made to measure food! So into the bowl they went! Puppy 1 weighed 3.38 ounces, Puppy 2 was 4.23 ounces, Puppy 3 was 3.92, Puppy 4 came in at 4.54 ounces and Puppy 5 was 4.58 ounces! And for a grand total of 19.65 ounces or 1 pound 3.65 ounces. Pretty good for Cashmere who weighed in at 5.2 before being pregnant.

The PUPPIES have arrived!!!!

June 15,2008 (Father's Day)

Jim and I and our four dogs were on our daily walk, when it happened! Cashmere has a contraction! We rushed back home and had a few moments and at 4:15pm, the first pup arrived. Puppy 1 came out breech but fairly(for me) easy. After mom got right to her duties, we noticed he was fairly light and TINY! What a wonder!! Puppy 2 came into the world at 5:30pm head first and again was fairly light colored and more robust than puppy 1. Puppy 3 came out at 6:45 pm and this one was rather dark and female! Next came Puppy 4 at 8:10 pm. This one was more of a struggle for mom but all went well. Our little male was albino in color. Puppy 5 was next and he arrived at 8:55pm. This one was also breech, but seemed to be an easy birth none the less. He looked similar with Puppy 4, white, but he had a small spot on his backside. Mom went on with her motherly duties of cleaning up each pup and they all were suckling immediately. We waited for more, but no more arrived. Jim and I took cashmere and her perfect family to a clean bed for the few nights to come. What a wonder this whole birthing experience was.

Hello and welcome to our blog,

Hi there, here we are in Maine and just went through another snowstorm. That did not stop us from going out for our walk. But the ones walking were only Cashmere, one of our dogs, and us! The other three were quite content staying in the sled tucked under blankets. They caused a stir with some drivers. It was a nice walk nonetheless.

Feel free to write to us via this blog using the comment button. We look forward to seeing what you have to say in regards to our new business adventure.

Hope to hear from you soon,
Sheila and Jim
