What a week! Today the puppies are 1 week old!!! They are growing so fast that you should check out the pictures in the Available Puppies section. We also named them as a tribute to our name: Silver Spoon Chihuahuas. Their names are in order of birth. Teaspoon, Tablespoon, Brown Sugar Spoon, Sugar Spoon, and Ladle!! We thought we should have some fun with that part.
Our little female, Brown Sugar, is sale pending, but the others, all male, are still up for sale. We are accepting deposits of $200 to hold your special pup. Each puppy must remain with us until they are able to go from 8-12 weeks old.
Mom is a natural and proud mom.
Leave us a comment and I will get back with you soon.
Until next week....

The Weigh In

Jim was able to weigh in the puppies with a scale made to measure food! So into the bowl they went! Puppy 1 weighed 3.38 ounces, Puppy 2 was 4.23 ounces, Puppy 3 was 3.92, Puppy 4 came in at 4.54 ounces and Puppy 5 was 4.58 ounces! And for a grand total of 19.65 ounces or 1 pound 3.65 ounces. Pretty good for Cashmere who weighed in at 5.2 before being pregnant.

The PUPPIES have arrived!!!!

June 15,2008 (Father's Day)

Jim and I and our four dogs were on our daily walk, when it happened! Cashmere has a contraction! We rushed back home and had a few moments and at 4:15pm, the first pup arrived. Puppy 1 came out breech but fairly(for me) easy. After mom got right to her duties, we noticed he was fairly light and TINY! What a wonder!! Puppy 2 came into the world at 5:30pm head first and again was fairly light colored and more robust than puppy 1. Puppy 3 came out at 6:45 pm and this one was rather dark and female! Next came Puppy 4 at 8:10 pm. This one was more of a struggle for mom but all went well. Our little male was albino in color. Puppy 5 was next and he arrived at 8:55pm. This one was also breech, but seemed to be an easy birth none the less. He looked similar with Puppy 4, white, but he had a small spot on his backside. Mom went on with her motherly duties of cleaning up each pup and they all were suckling immediately. We waited for more, but no more arrived. Jim and I took cashmere and her perfect family to a clean bed for the few nights to come. What a wonder this whole birthing experience was.
